Tomaž Druml (born March 28, 1988 in Feistritz an der Gail ) is a Slovenian-Austrian Nordic combined athlete . So far he has won the overall ranking of the Continental Cup twice and also holds the record in this racing series with 15 daily wins.

In May 2017, Druml announced that it would start for the national association of Slovenia.

Career

Druml began his international career in 2003 in junior competitions. On January 29, 2005 he made his debut in the B-World Cup of Nordic Combined in Klingenthal . He immediately reached the points. At the Junior World Championship in Kranj in 2006 , he won the silver medal with the team in the team competition. In the Gundersen singles, he narrowly missed the medal ranks with fourth place. On September 2, 2006 he won the FIS race in Winterberg . In December he also won his first B World Cup. He then made his debut in the Nordic Combined World Cup on January 20, 2007 in Seefeld . In the sprint run, he immediately achieved a top position with 12th place. At the 2007 Junior World Championships in Tarvisio , which took place shortly afterwards , he and the team won the gold medal. In the sprint he was fifth and in the Gundersen, as in 2006, fourth. From December 2007, Druml started again in the B World Cup. After he came back on the podium there, he started again in the World Cup. At the Junior World Championships in 2008 in Zakopane , Poland , he won the gold medal in the sprint and the silver medal in the Gundersen as well as in the team. In the World Cup, he usually got places in the points. His best result of the season was a ninth place in Chaux-Neuve in January 2009. From February 2009 Druml started in the Continental Cup. At the same time, he continued to compete in the World Cup and was able to achieve his best result of the season with 29th place in the overall World Cup ranking. In the Continental Cup he won in Lake Placid , Eisenerz , Harrachov and Kranj, among others , so that he ended the 2009/10 season in first place. In the following season he reached the podium several times, but only reached 5th place in the overall standings. After starting at the 2011 Grand Prix , he then took part primarily in World Cup competitions in the 2011/12 and 2012/13 seasons.

Druml could not start in the 2015/16 season due to cardiac arrhythmias. In the 2016/17 season he started again in the World Cup.

Druml lives in Feistritz an der Gail (Bistrica na Zilji) and starts for SV Achomitz (ŠD Zahomec) .
