The gmina wiejska Tomaszów Mazowiecki [ tɔˈmaʃuf mazɔˈvʲɛtski ] is an independent rural municipality in Poland in the powiat Tomaszowski in the Łódź Voivodeship . Its headquarters are in the city of Tomaszów Mazowiecki . The rural community, to which the city of Tomaszów Mazowiecki itself does not belong, has an area of 151.3 km², on which (as of June 30, 2019) 11,197 people live.
geography
The rural municipality is 110 km south of Warsaw and 50 km southeast of Łódź . 45% of the municipal area is used for agriculture, 44% is covered with forest.
history
From 1975 to 1998 the rural community belonged to the Piotrków Voivodeship .
Community structure
The rural municipality of Tomaszów Mazowiecki consists of the following 24 localities with school administration offices: Cekanów, Chorzęcin, Ciebłowice Duże, Ciebłowice Małe, Dąbrowa, Godaszewice, Jadwigów, Karolinów, Kolonia Zawada, Komorów, Kwiatkówsko, Komorzów, Smiatkówsko, Nugie, Swice Maiskoard, Kwiatkówka, Nugie, Swice, Swizewiard, Smugzewice. Tresta, Twarda, Wąwał, Wiaderno, Zaborów Drugi, Zaborów Pierwszy and Zawada.
Other localities are: Cekanów, Gajówka Smardzewice, Jeleń and Pudło.
