Tomkowa (German Tunkendorf ) is a village in Gmina Jaworzyna Śląska in Powiat Świdnicki in the Lower Silesian Voivodeship in Poland .

history

Tunkendorf was a combing place. It was acquired in two parts by the city of Schweidnitz in 1566 and 1570 . Since 1654 the place was parish Protestant to the Friedenskirche Schweidnitz and catholic to the church in Alt Jauernick . After the First Silesian War , Tunkendorf fell to Prussia and became part of the Schweidnitz district in the Teichenau district . In 1742 a Protestant school was founded with 1 teacher and 110 children.

Since 1870/71 the place had a memorial in memory of the Franco-German War . In 1895 the rural community had 35 inhabited houses, 1 block station, 1 schoolhouse and 66 ordinary households. In 1925 Tunkendorf had 266 inhabitants, of which 215 were Protestant and 52 were Catholic. When it was taken over by Soviet troops and the Polish administration in 1945, Tunkendorf was renamed Tomkowa . Most of the German residents were expelled and replaced by Poles .
