geography
The administrative seat of this Gmina is the city of Jaworzyna Śląska ( King's Tent ), which is about 9 km north of Świdnica and 49 km south-west of the city of Wrocław .
history
In the years 1975 to 1998 the Gmina belonged to the Wałbrzych Voivodeship ( Waldenburg ), which became part of today's Lower Silesian Voivodeship as part of a regional reform.
Naming
During the Seven Years' War in 1761, Frederick the Great moved into a fortified camp near Bolesławice (Bunzelwitz) , which is also historically mentioned as the Bunzelwitz field camp . He stood with 50,000 soldiers against 132,000 soldiers of the allied Austrians and Russians. During the camp, the king lived temporarily in a tent. For this reason, the railway station, which was later founded nearby, was given the name Königszelt . A memorial stone stood on the northern edge of the train station to commemorate this camp.
