Tomoka Kimura ( Japanese 木村 友 香 Kimura Tomoko ; born November 12, 1994 , in Shizuoka , Shizuoka Prefecture ) is a Japanese medium and long-distance runner .

Athletic career

Tomoka Kimura gained her first international experience at the 2011 Cross Country World Championships in Punta Umbría , where she finished 13th in the U20 age group in 19:56 minutes and secured the bronze medal with the team. She then took part in the 3000 meter run at the World Youth Championships near Lille , where she finished seventh in 9: 11.36 minutes. At the 2015 Cross Country World Championships in Guiyang , she finished 63rd in 30:01 minutes and in 2019 she took part in the 5000-meter run at the World Championships in Doha , where she was eliminated with 15: 53.08 minutes in advance .

In 2016 Kimura became the Japanese champion in the 1,500 meter run and in 2019 in the 5,000 meters.
