The Tonbach is a 3.5 km long right tributary of the Hagebach between the places Haynrode and Neustadt in the northern Thuringian district of Eichsfeld .

geography

The Tonbach rises in the Ohm Mountains , between the Ohmberg and the community of Haynrode . From its source it flows mainly to the east, later to the northeast. The upper course of the water falls dry in seasons with little rainfall. The Tonbach overcomes an altitude of 147 meters on a stretch of almost 3.5 km, which corresponds to a bottom gradient of around 42 . It flows into the Hagebach about 450 m from the southern boundary of Neustadt . It can be seen as the right or southern source arm of the Hagebach.

On the small Tonbach there were several mills in the Salmerode desert area , none of which are in operation today:
