Bluatschink is a band from the Tyrolean Lechtal and the artist name of the songwriter Toni Knittel, named after the mythical creature Bluatschink , who is said to live in the Lech .
Band history
From 1990 to 2007, Bluatschink consisted of the two singers / songwriters Toni Knittel and Peter Kaufmann, since 2007 Toni Knittel and his wife Margit have performed under this project name. The duo formed on June 6, 1990. At that time, a video show by WWF Austria was presented about the Tyrolean Lech Valley. Toni Knittel wrote some songs in the Lechtal dialect especially for this evening - mainly on the subject of environmental protection . In the meantime, the Lech is under protection, the range of topics of the two musicians is much broader and their level of awareness extended to Austria, Bavaria and South Tyrol. Since August 2007 Toni Knittel has been performing under this name, primarily with the children's program. He presented the new adult program with many new songs in autumn 2008.
At larger gigs, other musicians always play along - e.g. B. Paul Pfurtscheller, Gerald Schuller, Erwin Bader (keyboard) - Anda Kappeller (git) or Thomas Simmerl and Christian Tschuggnall (drums). Bluatschink have already performed in the opening act of Sting , Bryan Adams , Status Quo , Zucchero , STS , Ludwig Hirsch , Austria 3 , and many other stars of the scene.
Stylistically, Bluatschink belongs to the new folk music , so her lyrics are also critical and often political.
With the title “Funka fliaga” (on their fourth CD) they made their breakthrough in January 1996 across Austria - and also in Bavaria and South Tyrol. In the following year they also landed a hit with “I han Di gera”, which made them one of the 10 most played titles of the year. In 2002 they took part in the Austrian qualification for the song contest with the song "Bluama in da Scherba" and took third place. The Bluatschink motto is: “Cheerful, critical, puffy in the Lechtal dialect”. With the musical "Kaspar & die Wilderer" they broke new ground in the summer of 2005 and achieved a surprise coup with this production. More than 9,000 visitors and a resumption of the play in spring 2006 are proof of this.
In October 2005 the first live DVD with all the hits of the band's 15-year history was released. In June 2007 the double album "Das Beste" was released with a new song ( Reich ). In July 2007 the record company announced that Peter Kaufmann would quit after the last concerts in August 2007 to enjoy his private life. In August 2007 "Ritter Rüdiger - the Musical" will be premiered. In March 2008 it was announced that Toni Knittel was going on alone for the time being. The first solo album is entitled "Ganz schön TIERISCH". The first release and pre-release (already in November 2007) is a song about the little panda Fu Long , who was born in the summer of 2007 in Vienna's Schönbrunn Zoo . A tour is planned following the release of the album.
At the end of 2008 the single "100,000 Liebesliader" was released as Toni Knittel's first solo single. In 2009 Toni Knittel took the stage for the first time as an actor and played the farmer in the rustical “ Der Watzmann ruft ”.
In autumn 2010 Bluatschink was nominated for the Austrian preliminary decision for the Eurovision Song Contest 2011 . The band did not reach the top 30 group.
