Toni Tholen

Toni Tholen (born March 19, 1965 in Wachtendonk ) is a German philologist and literary scholar .

Life

After graduating from the College Augustinianum Gaesdonck studied Tholen in Münster , Saarbrücken , Frankfurt and Montpellier German , philosophy , middle and modern history . He received his doctorate in 1996 in Frankfurt on the dispute between hermeneutics and deconstruction . From 1996 to 1999 Tholen was a scientific advisor at the Cusanuswerk . He completed his habilitation in German in 2004 in Frankfurt am Main with a thesis on the reflection of masculinity in literature . After teaching assignments and lectureships in Frankfurt am Main, Hildesheim and Salamanca , Tholen has been professor for literary studies and literary didactics with a focus on literary studies at the Institute for German Language and Literature at the University of Hildesheim since 2008 .
