Professional career
Harrison, boxing in the left display, made his professional debut on July 2, 2011 in Tonalá , Mexico , against the German Uwe Tritschler and won by technical knockout in round 1. Two more early wins followed that year. In Tijuana , Mexico, he knocked out the German Harun Akcabelen in the third round in March of the following year
In 2015 Harrison had to accept his first defeat, he was defeated by his compatriot Willie Nelson in a non-title fight scheduled for 10 rounds in round 9 by TKo. The following year Harrison won early against the Belarusian Sergey Rabchenko.
On February 25, 2017, Harrison was allowed to compete against Jarrett Hurd for the IBF's vacant world title at the Legacy Arena in Birmingham , Alabama , and suffered his second bankruptcy; he lost, like against Nelson, by technical knockout in round 9.
On December 22, 2018 Harrison finally got his second chance to conquer a world championship belt - this time it was about the title of the WBC. Boxing took place at the Barclays Center in New York City , New York , against Jermell Charlo , who won the WBC title in 2016 against John Jackson and was able to defend him three times (including against Austin Trout ). Harrison won this fight by unanimous judge decision and thus won the title.
In the rematch, which took place in December 2019, Harrison lost by knockout in the eleventh round.
