Torun ( Ukrainian Торунь , Slovak Torun / Toroňany , Hungarian Toronya , Russian Торунь ) is a place in Mishhirja Raion in the Zakarpattia Oblast in western Ukraine .
The place originated in the 17th century (first mentioned in 1642) and is mainly inhabited by around 1300 Russians . It is located on the pass road over the Carpathian Mountains from Mishhirja von Dolyna near the oblast border and, together with the neighboring village of Lopuschne, forms a district council . In the place the river Rika is created by the confluence of the Pryslop and the Torunka .
Until 1919 the place belonged to the Empire Austria-Hungary or Hungary , afterwards as part of the Carpathian-Ukraine to Czechoslovakia . With the annexation he came back to Hungary in 1939–1945, from 1945 the place is part of the Soviet Union and since 1991 part of the Ukraine.
The Greek Catholic Church from 1809 is worth seeing in the village.
