The Tour de Timor TdT is an annual mountain bike race in East Timor . Men and women take part in the race. Due to the poor road conditions and the great heights to be overcome, it is called one of the toughest cycling races.

The race goes back to an initiative of the President and Nobel Peace Prize Laureate José Ramos-Horta and was part of his campaign “Dili - City of Peace”. It took place for the first time in 2009 on the occasion of the tenth anniversary of the 1999 independence referendum . The race had already been planned in 2006, but had to be canceled due to the unrest in the country .

In addition to the sporting aspect, the tour aims to promote national pride, peace and tourism in East Timor.

East Timorese are also specifically encouraged to participate in the races. Francelina Cabral also began her career here, taking part in the Tour de Timor for the first time in 2009 and in the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro .

The American city ​​of Madison has been holding a bike race called the Tour de Timor since 1999 . It is a charity race for amateurs in favor of the sister city of Ainaro in East Timor.
