TowerBrook Capital Partners LP is an American private equity firm with headquarters in New York City and offices in London and Munich .

The company was founded in 2005 as the successor to "Soros Private Equity", an equity company of the US investment banker and multi-billionaire George Soros .

TowerBrook invests in large and medium-sized companies in the European and North American markets. TowerBrook also established a charitable foundation , the TowerBrook Foundation, which is funded from the proceeds of TowerBrook Capital Partners LP. The foundation supports non-profit and charitable projects.

Transactions

From 2007 to 2011, shoe manufacturer Jimmy Choo was owned by TowerBrook.

In 2009 the building materials manufacturer Monier Group ran into financial difficulties. The previous owner PAI Partners was replaced by Apollo Management , TowerBrook and York Capital. Today TowerBrook still holds 20.75% of the shares in Monier Holdings GP SA
