An indoor air pool is an outdoor pool that is covered with an air dome outside of the summer season . The facilities of the outdoor pool (cash register, changing room, etc.) can still be used, access to the hall is via a pressure lock .

The indoor air pools in Jöllenbeck (near Bielefeld), Epe (Westphalia) , Uchte , Uetze , Dillenburg , Augsburg , Braunschweig , Hamburg-Wilhelmsburg , in Wolfsburg ( Laagberg district ) and the Buna-Werke are no longer in operation . In Duisburg , the swimming stadium was replaced by a modern sports pool after the shell was destroyed in 2003.
