Traute Sense , also Traude Sense , (born December 3, 1920 in Goldenstein , Czechoslovakia , † March 30, 1997 in Potsdam ) was a German actress .

Life

Sense, the daughter of a couple of actors, was already on the stage as a child. From 1935 to 1938 she played as an apprentice at various touring theaters . Engagements at various provincial theaters followed. From 1943 to 1947 Sense was part of the ensemble of the Zwickau Theater . More Stage obligations had at the theater Greiz , at Wismar Theater , the People's Theater in Rostock and at the Hans Otto Theater in Potsdam . From 1960 she worked as a freelance actress.

From the 1950s onwards, Sense took part in numerous film and television productions for DEFA and German television radio . She was often used as a concise supporting actress in short episodes and scenes.

She had her first important leading role under the direction of Kurt Maetzig as Countess von Holzendorf in the two-part television film Schlösser und Katen (1956/1957). In 1961 she played the role of Mrs. Meyer in the sting animal film Dem Leben Lost! ; more spiny animal films followed. She was seen as Bertha Krupp in the multi-part television series Krause und Krupp (1968/1969). In the 1970s and 1980s she was able to achieve great success as Hertha Baumann in the popular Maxe Baumann amusement series; her partner was Gerd E. Schäfer .

She also starred in several episodes of the crime series Polizeiruf 110 . She also took on guest roles in the series The Public Prosecutor Has the Word and Spuk unterm Ferris Wheel .

Sense was married to the actor, director and author Werner Röwekamp (1928–1982). Sense was buried in the local cemetery in Kleinmachnow near Berlin .
