The Triebenbach is a tributary of the Palten , which drains over the Enns to the Danube .

It rises in the Triebental in Hintertriebental through the confluence of the left Mödring and the right Kettentalbach and flows in a north to north-westerly direction, mostly in the municipality of Hohentauern . After crossing the main town of Trieben on the left edge of the valley, the only larger settlement on its course, it flows north of the town of Sankt Lorenzen im Paltental von Trieben from the left into the Palten .

A little before the municipal boundary of Trieben, the B 114, also known as Triebener Straße , descends from the side valley of the Tauernbach into the valley and continues in it to Trieben.
