Troy Gentile (born October 27, 1993 in Boca Raton , Florida ) is an American actor .

life and career

At the age of four, Troy Gentile, son of former Boca Raton News employee Debbie Gentile and of Iranian-born Albert Farshi, moved with his family to California . There he finally began his acting training, where he was initially only used in smaller theater productions and finally made his film debut in 2005 when he was brought into the cast of Die Bären sind los .

For his role as Matthew Hooper , he and a number of other young actors received a Young Artist Award in the category “Best Performance in a Feature Film - Young Ensemble Cast” the following year.

In the following two years, Gentile was finally used in numerous internationally broadcast films and television series, including one episode each of the series The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson and Hotel Zack & Cody in 2006 . He also played the younger version of Jack Black twice that year ; the one in Nacho Libre , on the other hand in Kings of Rock - Tenacious D .

At the Young Artist Awards of 2007 Gentile was finally nominated for his role for an award in the category "Best Performance in a Feature Film - Supporting Young Actor".

The year 2007 was marked by a number of major film appearances. This year he filmed the pilot for the later television series Zip , for which Troy Gentile was cast in early April 2008 after Steven Weber and Bernardo De Paula were recorded. In addition to a small supporting role in the thriller 9 Lives of Mara , he also got a leading role in the comedy Fugly in 2007 . Other supporting roles followed, mainly in love , in the short film Order Up and in the film Der Glücksbringer , in which he played a younger version of the actor Dan Fogler . All of these films were released in 2007.

In the following years his engagements declined noticeably, although he still managed to get bigger roles. For example in the films Drillbit Taylor - A man for all accidents (2008) or Das Hundehotel (2009). In 2009 he was nominated again for a Young Artist Award for his role as Ryan Anderson in Drillbit Taylor , this time together with David Dorfman and Nate Harley in the category "Best Performance in a Feature Film - Young Ensemble Cast".

In 2008 Troy Gentile had a guest appearance in the television series Entourage , as well as a further guest appearance in an episode of Hawthorne in 2010. In German-language dubbed versions of the films and series in which Gentile was used, he has no fixed voice. Instead, his voice was taken over by various voice actors, such as Moses Obleta in Die Bären sind los , Tobias John von Freyend in Der Glücksbringer , Konstantin Seidenstücker in Drillbit Taylor - A Man for All Accidents , and Daniel Claus in Das Hundehotel .
