The Tschitschkajul ( Russian Чичкаю́л ; also Tschitschka-Jul , Чи́чка-Ю́л ) is a 450 km long right tributary of the Tschulym in Tomsk Oblast in Russia .
The Tschitschkajul rises in the eastern part of the Chulym Plain, in the extreme southeast of the West Siberian lowlands , a good 150 km north of Bogotol not far from the border with the Krasnoyarsk region . It flows through the plain along its entire length in a strongly meandering direction in a predominantly westerly direction to its confluence with the Tschulym, about 65 km north-north-west of Assino .
The catchment area of the river covers 6150 km². The Tschitschkajul has only a few major tributaries. The longest is the Grischina from the left at 52 km .
The discharge 114 km above the mouth is an annual mean of 28.46 m³ / s, with a maximum monthly mean of 135 m³ / s in May and a minimum monthly mean of 7.97 m³ / s in March. From the end of October / November to April / beginning of May the river freezes over.
The taiga area through which the Tschitschkajul flows is only sparsely populated. For this reason, it does not serve as an inland waterway , although it is navigable for smaller vehicles for almost 200 km from the middle reaches . The only remaining villages on the river are Franzewo and not far from the mouth of the Apsagachevo, both belonging to the Pervomaiski Rajon , through which the Chitschkajul flows from the middle reaches, while the upper reaches are on the territory of the Teguldetski rajon . Near the mouth crosses the following the Chulym railway Tomsk - Assino - Byely Jar the Tschitschkajul, and a 1954 opened at Franzewo, mainly used for forestry Schmalspurbahn of Komsomolsk (Station Balagatschowo ) in the north of the river forest preferred Tschitschkajulskaja Lesnaja Datscha.
