The Tschulym ( Russian Чулым ) is a 1799 kilometer long right tributary of the Ob in the Asian part of Russia .
Together with its right source river Weißer Ijus , it has a length of 2023 kilometers.
The source rivers White and Black Ijus arise in southern Siberia in the Republic of Khakassia northwest of Abakan in the Kuznetsk Alatau, which is up to 2211 m high . The Chulym initially flows northwards into the Krasnoyarsk region to Achinsk , where it crosses the route of the Trans-Siberian Railway . Then he turns to repeatedly changing southwestern to northern directions, flows past Assino in the Tomsk Oblast to last west-flowing below the last major town on the river Baturino between Moltschanowo and Mogotschino in whether to open .
