Tsunami Relief Cardiff was a benefit concert held on January 22, 2005 at Millennium Stadium , Cardiff for the benefit of the victims of the 2004 Indian Ocean earthquake . The concert raised £ 1,248,963 .

The concert was the largest charity concert in the UK since Live Aid 1985 , with more than 60,000 spectators and millions on TV to watch the seven-hour concert. 57,000 tickets were sold within three days. When it was announced that another 3,000 would be sold, the concert is said to have been completely sold out after just 20 minutes.

The concert included a wide variety of music styles: blues, rock with Eric Clapton and Jools Holland , classical music by Aled Jones and Charlotte Church as well as Welsh rock by Feeder and the Manic Street Preachers .
