Tucuruí , officially Município de Tucuruí , is a municipal city in the Brazilian state of Pará ( South America ).
The municipality received city rights in 1947. According to the 2010 census, it had 97,128 inhabitants. As of July 1, 2019, the Instituto Brasileiro de Geografia e Estatística (IBGE) estimated the population to be 113,659. The population density in 2010 was 46.6 inhabitants per km² on a total area of around 2084.3 km². The distance to the capital Belém is 480 km. It ranks 15th of the state's 144 municipalities.

The city is located on the dam of the Tucuruí reservoir , through which the Rio Tocantins flows. It is located at an altitude of 42 meters above sea level.
Surrounding communities are Breu Branco , Novo Repartimento , Baião and Pacajá .
The community has a tropical climate, Am according to the Köppen and Geiger climate classification . The average temperature is 27.4 ° C. The average rainfall is 2427 mm per year. There is a short dry season.
