Tulio Manuel Chirivella Varela (born November 14, 1932 in Aguirre ) is old archbishop of Barquisimeto .

Life

Tulio Manuel Chirivella Varela was ordained a priest on November 11, 1956 and was incardinated in the clergy of the Archdiocese of Barquisimeto . Pope Paul VI appointed him on April 5, 1974 Bishop of Margarita .

He was ordained episcopate on June 9, 1974, by the Archbishop of Caracas, Santiago de Venezuela , Cardinal José Humberto Quintero Parra ; Co- consecrators were Luis Eduardo Henríquez Jiménez , Bishop of Valencia en Venezuela , and Francisco de Guruceaga Iturriza , Bishop of La Guaira .

He was appointed Archbishop of Barquisimeto on October 18, 1982 and was introduced to office on December 11 of the same year. On December 22, 2007, Pope Benedict XVI. his age-related retirement.
