The Tupolev Tu-107 ( Russian Туполев Ту-107 ) was a military troop transport aircraft derived from the Tu-104 , which was also intended as a drop-off aircraft for paratroopers and as a hospital aircraft. For this purpose, a Tu-104 was provided with a stern ramp, an overlying armament and equipment adapted for the purpose. The first flight of a converted Tu-104 took place in September 1958. After a critical examination by the Soviet military, the aircraft was declared unsuitable for dropping parachutists due to its high minimum speed, which meant the end of the further development of the machine. The machine was dismantled and used as a transporter for high-ranking dignitaries.
