geography

The place lies on the Dunajec between the Gorcen in the west and the Sandezer Beskids ( Beskid Sądecki ) in the east, Ochotnica Dolna in the north and Krościenko nad Dunajcem in the south.

history

The place was founded in 1336 along the trade route to Hungary. The name is derived from the founder Tylman . He probably had a Roman Catholic church as early as the 14th century.

During the first partition of Poland in 1772 the village became part of the new Kingdom of Galicia and Lodomeria of the Habsburg Empire (from 1804).

In 1918, after the end of the First World War and the collapse of the Austro-Hungarian monarchy, Tylmanowa came to Poland. This was only interrupted by the occupation of Poland by the Wehrmacht in World War II .

From 1975 to 1998 Tylmanowa was part of the Nowy Sącz Voivodeship .
