Ukk is a Hungarian community in the county Sümeg in Veszprém County .

location

The community is located on the southern edge of the Marcal basin . Neighboring communities are Gógánfa, Megyer, Rigács and Zalagyömörő.

history

The first written mention of the place comes from the year 1268. In the early Middle Ages it was also recorded as Uggyemerev or Ukkgyömörő . The church was built in 1725 at the instigation of the monks living there. However, the main altar, statues and pulpit of the church date back to 1674.

Infrastructure

There is a post office, library, mayor's office, a Roman Catholic church and the Ukk Tömegsport Egyesület sports club .
