The United Nations Aouzou Strip Observer Group  (English; German: United Nations observer group in the  Aouzou Strip  , abbreviation UNASOG  ) was based on UN Resolution   915 of  May 4, 1994 and was deployed in Chad  and Libya  from May 1994 to June 1994 .
 
The aim of the UN mandate  was to monitor the withdrawal of Libyan troops from the Aouzou Strip  in Chad. The operation was led from the Aouzou Base  headquarters   by Colonel Mazlan Bahamuddin  from  Malaysia  . A total of nine  military observers  and six civilian employees from  Bangladesh  ,  Ghana  ,  Honduras  ,  Kenya  , Malaysia and  Nigeria were deployed  .
