Udeme Ekpeyong

Udeme Ekpeyong (born March 28, 1973 ) is a former Nigerian sprinter who specialized in the 400-meter run .

Internationally, he appeared primarily as a relay runner. He finished fifth with the Nigerian 4 x 400 meter relay at the 1992 Olympic Games in Barcelona . At the 1995 World Athletics Championships in Gothenburg , he celebrated the most important success of his career by winning the bronze medal in the relay. As the starting runner of his team, he placed together with Kunle Adejuyigbe , Jude Monye , Sunday Bada in a time of 3: 03.18 min behind the seasons of the United States and Jamaica . In contrast, he missed the finals at the 1996 Olympic Games in Atlanta with the relay.

Ekpeyong's greatest success as a single starter was winning the silver medal in the 400-meter run at the 1995 Universiade in Fukuoka . At the 1999 World Athletics Championships in Seville , he reached the quarter-finals over this distance.

Udeme Ekpeyong is 1.79 m tall and had a competition weight of 68 kg.
