history

Ulf Zick (born March 12, 1974 in Lingen ) was enthusiastic about Kiss when he was eight . This gave rise to the desire to delve deeper into the musical world of glitter. After his own attempts at the guitar , he switched to organizing concerts in his home region. He moved to Berlin and began studying social and business communication , which he broke off due to excessive sideline activities. He organized a complete tour of Germany for Michael Landau . Afterwards he also promised Kingdom Come this, but made the experience that despite 700 and more visitors, a lot of money can be lost if the stage show is too overloaded. He completed a three-month internship at the promotion agency Sister Right, where he looked after, among other things, Die Ärzte and Rammstein . In his early twenties he founded his own tour planning and promotion company Zwei x Zwei, which received orders from Stoppok and The Inchtabokatables , for example . Next came the Ulftone Music label in March 1998. This made Zick one of the world's youngest label operators. His partner was initially Christoph Martius, from April 2001 Zick was the sole owner of the multi-purpose company and thus the boss of four employees. Zick's top principles were to only take on those artists whom he fully supports, to keep the return rate low with a serious delivery policy and to send simple stage programs on concert tours. Nevertheless, the company, which had meanwhile expanded its fields of activity to music management, got bogged down in 2000, which is why it wanted to concentrate only on the core business of Ulftone in the future. With the release of the album Meet on Plateau by the Berlin band Elikan Dew on March 10, 2006, the label ceased operations for the time being.
