Ulrich Feldhoff

Ulrich Feldhoff (born February 6, 1938 in Oberhausen ; † October 19, 2013 ) was a German sports official .

Career

From 1953 to 1966 he was active in canoe racing. From 1968 he was involved in canoeing at the state level and from 1970 at the federal level . From 1981 to 2005 he was President of the German Canoe Association . In 1998 he also took over the presidency of the International Canoeing Federation ICF , which he held until November 2008. He was then elected ICF Honorary President.

From 1988 to 2006 Feldhoff was chairman of the Federal Committee for Competitive Sport of the German Sports Confederation and a member of the Presidium of the National Olympic Committee for Germany . When the two sports organizations merged to form the DOSB in 2006, he became its first honorary member .

Feldhoff was Chef de Mission of the German Olympic team at the Olympic Games in Barcelona in 1992 and in Atlanta in 1996 , leading the first all-German Olympic team after 1960.

Ulrich Feldhoff was married and last lived in Oberhausen.

Awards

Feldhoff has received numerous awards, including the Federal Cross of Merit on Ribbon , the Federal Cross of Merit 1st Class and the Order of Merit of the State of North Rhine-Westphalia . He was the club 2002 Pro Ruhrgebiet for citizens of the Ruhr appointed. In 2009 he was awarded the Olympic Order .
