Ulrich Fistill

Ulrich Fistill (* 1967 in Bruneck ) is an Italian Roman Catholic theologian .

Life

He grew up in Stern in Val Badia and attended the Vinzentinum (Brixen) from 1981 to 1986 . In 1986 he passed the Matura at the state high school in Bruneck. From 1986 to 1991 he studied theology in Vienna and Brixen , where he obtained his diploma and bachelor's degree in 1991 . He completed his master's degree in theology in Innsbruck in 1992 . After being ordained a priest in Brixen in 1992, he was a cooperator / parish vicar in Ortisei in Val Gardena from 1992 to 1994 . From 1994 to 2002 he studied the Holy Scriptures ( Old Testament ) at the Pontificio Istituto Biblico in Rome ; Student at the Pontificium Institutum Teutonicum Santa Maria dell'Anima (Vice Rector 1999/2000) and in Jerusalem (1995/1996). He obtained a licentiate in biblical studies in 1997 and a doctorate in 2003 . From 2002 to 2003 he was a lecturer for the Old Testament in Brixen. From 2002 to 2003 he was a cooperator in Schlanders . From 2002 to 2006 he was the person responsible for the training and further education of priests and lay people in the church service. From 2003 to 2009 he was parish administrator / pastor (from 2004) in Albeins and Sarns . He was appointed associate professor for the Old Testament in Brixen in 2003. From 2008 to 2014 he was director of the Brixen Theological Courses. In 2009 he was appointed full professor for the Old Testament, Canon at Brixen Cathedral and director of the library of the Philosophical-Theological University of Bressanone . From 2015 to 2019 he was Dean of the PTH Brixen .
