Martin M. Lintner

Martin M. Lintner OSM (* 1972 in Aldein ) is an Italian Roman Catholic theologian from South Tyrol.

Life

He grew up on his parents' mountain farm in the southern Dolomites, attended elementary school in his hometown from 1978 to 1983 and from 1983 to 1991 the middle school and the humanistic high school-lyceum Johanneum (Tirolo) near Merano . After graduating from high school, he studied Catholic theology in Innsbruck from 1991 to 1993 . After joining the Servite Order , he completed the pre-novitiate in Rovato ( Brescia ) and the novitiate in Siena from 1993 to 1995 . After taking his first religious vows , he continued studying Catholic theology in Vienna from 1995 to 1999away. From 1999 to 2001 he specialized in moral theology in Rome ( Gregoriana ) and completed the basic course in Mariology ( Marianum ). In 2001 he was in Brixen Cathedral by Bishop Wilhelm Egger for priests ordained. During his time as a chaplain in the Servite Parish in Rossau (Vienna) (2001-2006) he wrote his dissertation in moral theology at the University of Vienna . After completing his doctorate, he worked as a chaplain in the Servitenparre St. Mariä Himmelfahrt in Gelsenkirchen-Buer , Diocese of Essen , and as a lecturer in social ethics and moral theology in Rome (Marianum) (2006–2009).

In 2009 he took over the chair for moral theology and spiritual theology at the PTH Brixen (until 2011 as a lecturer, since 2011 as a full professor) as the successor to the bishop Karl Golser .

He is a member of the International Association for Moral Theology and Social Ethics (2017-2019 1st Chairman, since September 2019 2nd Chairman), the European Society for Catholic Theology (2011-2013 Vice-President, 2013-2015 President), of ATISM - Associazione Teologica per lo Studio della Morale, in the European Regional Committee of the CTEWC - Catholic Ethicists in the World Church, the State Ethics Committee of the Autonomous Province of Bolzano, the Clinical Ethics Circle Innsbruck, in the Scientific Advisory Board of the DE PACE FIDEI Institute, in the Kuratorium of the Marienberg closed-door discussions and the editorial board of INTAMS Review. He is liaison pastor of the AV Austria Innsbruck and from 2011-2018 was a lecturer in ethics (Studium generale) at the Free University of Bolzano .
