Ulrich von Schack

Ulrich Graf von Schack (born June 22, 1853 in Zülow ; † March 5, 1923 in Sankt Goar ) was a Mecklenburg manor owner and district administrator .

Life

Ulrich von Schack was born as the son of Count Rudolf von Schack , Herr auf Zülow and Brüsewitz , and Elise geb. by Bennigsen . After attending high school in Schwerin he studied at the Rheinische Friedrich-Wilhelms-University of Bonn philosophy . In 1874 he became a member of the Corps Borussia Bonn . After completing his studies, he first became the manor owner and district administrator in Mecklenburg , but soon gave up the office, leased his estate and, after marrying the bourgeois Gertrud Schmitz from Bonn, moved to Sankt Goar . For many years he was president of the Sankt Goarer Casinogesellschaft and hunting director of the Oberweseler Hochwald Jagdgesellschaft. He died in 1923 after being run over by a French military vehicle in Sankt Goar.

One of his sons was the German officer and resistance fighter of July 20, 1944, Adolf Friedrich von Schack .
