Ulrike Flach
Ulrike Flach born Franzen (born January 1, 1951 in Oberhausen ) is a German politician ( FDP ). From 1998 to 2013 she was a member of the Bundestag and from 2011 to 2013 Parliamentary State Secretary in the Federal Ministry of Health . Before that, she was deputy chairwoman of the FDP parliamentary group since 2009 . From 2014 to 2017 she was a member of the supervisory board of Compugroup Medical AG.
education and profession
After graduating from high school in 1969 in Oberhausen, Ulrike Flach studied applied linguistics in Mainz , London and Genoa , which she completed in 1973 as a qualified translator . Since 1974 she has worked as a translator at Kraftwerk Union in Mülheim an der Ruhr . Her contract had been suspended since January 2005 and ended in 2013.

Ulrike Flach is married and has two children and five grandchildren.
Political party
She has been a member of the FDP since 1975. From 1976 to 1978 she was chairwoman of the FDP district association in Oberhausen. From 1992 to 2010 she was chairwoman of the FDP district association Mülheim / Ruhr, from 1995 to 2005 deputy state chairwoman of the FDP North Rhine-Westphalia . From 1997 to 2005 she was a member of the FDP federal executive committee. In 2006 she was re-elected to the state board of the FDP NRW. From 2006 to 2010 she was also deputy state chairwoman of the Association of Liberal Local Politicians (VLK) NRW.

From 1998 to 2013 Ulrike Flach was a member of the German Bundestag . Since June 2000 she has been chairwoman of the Committee for Education, Research and Technology Assessment. On January 24, 2005 , she resigned from the position of chairman of the committee after criticizing Siemens AG for payments of € 60,000 per year, for which she had also worked as a translator. Her successor was Cornelia Pieper .
From 2005 to 2009 Ulrike Flach was chairwoman of the FDP parliamentary group in the budget committee and technology policy spokeswoman for the parliamentary group. After the federal election in 2009 , she was a member of the budget and health committee, health policy spokeswoman and deputy chairwoman of the FDP parliamentary group until moving to government in 2011.
From May 12, 2011 to December 17, 2013, Flach was Parliamentary State Secretary in the Federal Ministry of Health. She succeeded Daniel Bahr , who was appointed Federal Minister of Health.
Ulrike Flach moved into the German Bundestag via the FDP state list of North Rhine-Westphalia .
For federal election 2013 flat did not occur again.
