Ulrike M. Dierkes (born October 9, 1957 in Münster ) is a German journalist , author and editor who became known for her publications on incest , some of which were autobiographical .

Dierkes is the founder and chairwoman of the registered association MELINA incest children / people from rape e. V. , for whose press and public relations she is responsible as a journalist.

Ulrike M. Dierkes was born in Münster, spent her childhood in Ostbevern and later attended secondary school in Telgte . At the age of 14 she began writing for youth magazines and school newspapers. After completing secondary school , from 1979 to 1981 she completed her journalistic training in a local editorial office of the Rhein-Zeitung (RZ) and at the same time in 1980 a writers' seminar with lessons in poetry and short stories as well as publishing. She then worked as a freelance local journalist for the Westerwälder Zeitung in Montabaur.

In 1975 she got her first marriage. This resulted in two children, the first of whom died. The marriage ended in 1981.

Following her journalistic work, most recently for the Bad Kreuznacher Wochenspiegel , Dierkes moved to Stuttgart in 1983 for professional reasons . There she met her future husband, whom she married in December. († June 2, 2019). From 1984 to 1988 she worked as a permanent employee of the Stuttgarter Wochenblatt for the “Crafts / Guilds” department. After the birth of her children, she initially took up this work as a free time and occasionally continued for the Bonn site press, a service provider for press organs. On behalf of an agency, she created book descriptions for book catalogs and worked on studies in a market research institute in Stuttgart.

In 1990 she completed an advertising copywriting seminar, which she completed with a copywriting diploma (grade 2.5). Until the publication of her first book Melina's Magie in 1995, she worked in the editorial department of the Stuttgart Schlaumeier Verlag GmbH (now Riva-Medien, Stuttgart) and wrote texts for TOP 100 .

From 1999 to 2000 she worked in an editorial office and created texts for a “virtual academy” as part of the Stuttgart PUSH! Project for start-ups. In 2000, the SWR produced a three-quarter-hour film documentary Blood Shame - The Effects of a Crime , in which Dierkes took part as the protagonist for incest children.

Until 2003 she worked in the administrative department of the mediafon independent media consultancy and research project , a ver.di project supported by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research . Since 2004 she has been working as a freelance writer and journalist in the cultural field, writing book and film reviews, and providing information on artists and their works on request.

Especially since the publication of her three books and most recently her autobiography Sister Mother - Ich bin ein Incestkind in 2004, she has appeared several times on talk shows , including in the SWR night café , on Stern TV , on B. meets ... with Bettina Böttinger , on jbk - johannes b. kerner and the VOX mirror TV . Dierkes reads from her works in cultural and literary institutions. Numerous articles about her work have appeared in women's magazines and daily newspapers.

In 2007 she took part in the AnStifter Stuttgart project “Against violence and forgetting” for the victims of the Nazi dictatorship. School reading in the Eichendorff-Schule Böblingen with own and foreign texts.

Many of her lyrical works were published in the “Bibliothek deutscher Gedichte” and in the “Frankfurter Bibliothek” of the Frankfurter Verlagsgruppe .

In 2007 she was awarded the Federal Cross of Merit (Cross of Merit on Ribbon of the Order of Merit of the Federal Republic of Germany) and in 2010 the innovation prize “Land of Ideas” with a certificate and trophy from Federal President Horst Köhler .

From 2010 to 2016 she worked as a permanent media consultant , most recently for a daily newspaper. In 2018 she took part in the documentary film “Nobody Else” (women talk about sexual violence) for the Wuppertal media project.

In 2019 her book Schwestermutter - Ich bin ein Incestkind was published as an eBook (Bastei Lübbe). In the same year she published Willy Sievers ' book "The Angel Chain" - Hitler's attack on the Soviet Union - based on the diary of a German soldier who was forced into military service .

In 2019 she appeared as a member of the Neuwied artist group “Kultu (h) r” as a poet with poetry in unusual places such as the historic Neuwied cemetery on Monument Day.
