Django - insatiable like Satan (original title: Un hombre vino a matar ) is a Spaghetti Western from 1967. The Spanish-Italian coproduction by León Klimovsky was released on December 5, 1969 in German cinemas. The alternative title is The Man Who Came to Kill .

action

Tony Garnett is charged with stealing Fort Jackson's payroll and killing Captain Davis. However, the condemned man can flee. His bitterness, harshness and unscrupulousness, which he develops in the search for the real culprit, make him a dreaded bandit who is called the "Rattler Kid". His cousin Riff, who is part of his gang, sends him to Akela to kill the sheriff while he tries to rob the bank himself. Arrived in Akela, Tony meets his teacher Bill Manners, who immediately sees through him. He tries to prevent the deed, but is wounded by the reef that has meanwhile arrived and that escapes with the booty of the robbery.

Tony is now on the trail of his cousin and discovers Fort Jackson's wages while staying at his ranch. The culprit he has long sought is Riff. When they meet, it comes to a fight, which Tony wins. The sheriff can persuade Tony to let Riff live and turn over to justice; the wages are brought to the fort. Tony Garnett is now an honorable, free man.

criticism

Segnalazioni Cinematografiche saw in the "serial Western" a "colorless attempt to let the genre live on, a careless script and modest representation skills."

Remarks

Only in the German version did the protagonist mutate into Django; the Italian title of the film is L'uomo venuto per uccidere , the international Rattler Kid .
