content
Pat Scotty was a captain in the army who, though very clever, has fallen from grace; now he's hired to take down a gang of Mexican gangsters under the command of El Condor. The members of an expedition looking for Californian sulfur deposits are on their conscience. Scotty pretends to be a prospector and can thus gain the trust of the bandits. With the help of a Mexican girl who has fallen in love with him, Pat is able to capture the gang and call in the Seventh Cavalry for help. During the waiting period, however, a kind of friendship develops between El Condor and him - at least respect. When El Condor escapes, he chases after him alone and challenges him to an all-important duel.
criticism
"Average spaghetti western with black humor and lots of corpses."
"Bergonzelli has not created a masterpiece with this film either, but it is a tad better than his previous films."
“Moderately exciting spaghetti westerns about a jack-of-all-trades who cheats the army and bandits alike. Overloaded with the common clichés of this genre. A disappointment even for fans. "
- Harsch judges film.tv.it: "Unsightly, irrelevant, superfluous."
Remarks
The film song "The Devil was an Angel" is performed by Mino Reitano ; Kristopher Spencer writes about the soundtrack of the film : "The old west sounds like cowboys on LSD here, and that sounds good."
