The União das Freguesias de Viana do Castelo (Santa Maria Maior e Monserrate) e Meadela is a Portuguese municipality ( Freguesia ) in the district ( Concelho ) Viana do Castelo in northwestern Portugal .

history

The parish was created in the course of the regional reform of September 29, 2013 by merging the former parishes of Santa Maria Maior , Monserrate and Meadela . Santa Maria Maior became the seat of the new administration.
