Club Deportivo Unión Comercio , or simply Unión Comercio for short , is a Peruvian football club from the Nueva Cajamarca district in the Rioja province , San Martín , founded in 2002 , which currently plays in the Primera División .

history

The Unión Comercio association was founded in 2002. The club rose in 2010 by winning the Copa Perú in the Primera División . In its first season in the first division, Unión Comercio directly qualified for the Copa Sudamericana 2012 . There, however, the club was eliminated in the first round against the Colombian club Envigado FC . In 2013, the club was only just able to prevent relegation. A year later, Unión Comercio qualified fourth for the Copa Sudamericana 2015 . There the club failed again in the first round, this time at the Colombian club Águilas Doradas .

Stadion

Unión Comercio has played its home games at the Estadio IPD de Nueva Cajamarca since 2017 . The stadium was inaugurated in 2017 and has a capacity of 12,000 seats. Before that, the club played its home games at the Estadio IPD de Moyobamba .
