Unterdambach is a village and a cadastral municipality in the market town of Garsten in Upper Austria.

The village is located in the Dambachtal, southeast of Garsten, which is shaped like a horseshoe between the Damberg ( 807  m above sea level ), the Schwarzberg ( 838  m above sea level ), the Blabergkogel ( 748  m above sea level ), the Sonnberg ( 777  m above sea level ), the Sturzberg ( 741  m above sea level ) and the Buchberg ( 542  m above sea level ). Around 1850 there were over 30 nail smiths in Dambach whose products were sold as far as Hungary. Nails of all kinds were manufactured, whereby the pig iron delivered from the Eisenwurzen was first stretched with the help of Zainhammers and then the iron rods were provided with nail heads in the nail forges.
