history
The place is documented in 1477 as an der Saß . A farmstead is mentioned, in the 17th century a hunter's house. The place was originally a clearing in the Saaß forest, a wild spell of the Steyr rule. Around 1800 only 8 farmsteads are mentioned here.
Around 1850, when the local parishes were created , the assignment of the place to Garsten or Aschach was unclear.
In 1913 the place got a fire engine from the Garsten volunteer fire brigade , which became independent in 1921.
