  • The lower terrace with village settlements
  • The agriculturally used high terrace
  • The densely populated areas (cities)

Characteristic

  • The room unit is a multi-level terrace landscape between 250 and 300  m above sea level.
  • The Steyrtal has a strong dynamic, with the river bed regularly shifting. Partly conglomerate partial walls can be found.
  • The Ennstal has many power plants . The reservoirs are rich in birds.
  • The alluvial forest area is incomplete and mainly ash and poplar trees are found . Arable farming exists adjacent to the alluvial forest .
  • The flat lower terrace is mainly used for agriculture (arable farming). There are near-natural residual structures and dry heather forests. Hornbeam , beech and ash are predominant, while spruce is less common. The main traffic routes run here ( Steyrer Straße and Rudolfsbahn ) and there is sometimes a dense settlement (Steyr, Enns).
  • The high terraces are used for agriculture and are poor in structure. Agriculture is predominant on the loess soil. Square courtyards with orchards dominate the picture. The small forests (spruce and ash) and the semi-arid lawn complete the picture.
  • Precipitation decreases towards the north. The area is known as the fog zone .
