Untergrund is an album by the German rappers Frauenarzt and Blokkmonsta , who appear on it under the duo name Blokk & Arzt. The album was released on December 11, 2009 as a joint venture through the Bassboxxx and Hirntot Records labels and in collaboration with Distributionz . The distribution is taken over by Soulfood Music Distribution GmbH .

In 2008, Frauenarzt released the sampler Atzen Musik Vol. 1 together with Manny Marc , which was the rapper's first album to enter the charts. The single to be found on the sampler Das geht ab! developed into a commercial success from June 2009, during which the gynecologist and Manny Marc were given the opportunity to present the song at the Olympiastadion Berlin . In contrast to older albums, some of which have meanwhile been indexed, Frauenarzt does not use pornographic and aggressive lyrics in the songs of "Atzen Musik", which is viewed critically by some older fans of the hip-hop musician. At the end of October 2009, the album Untergrund was announced with a teaser for December 11th as a collaboration with Blokkmonsta, who had also received criticism in the past for his music known as "Psychokore" . The subsequent release was seen by critics in part as a gynecologist's return to his roots and as redress for his underground fans. Frauenarzt himself claims to have recorded the album with Blokkmonsta on a whim.

Texts
The rappers deal with various topics in the lyrics. Frauenarzt addresses his success and justifies himself for his techno-heavy music. In the text about love , the rappers talk about their "true love". In the gynecologist's text, this is the affection for prostitutes and in the case of Blokkmonsta's lyrical self, the love for weapons. Furthermore, the two musicians turn against censorship and investigations that are carried out against them. The indexing of their albums by the BpjM is also heavily criticized. Titles like Black Market and Illegal Business are about illegal business. In Feiges Pack , the two rappers turn against people who take up arms in disputes and only feel strong in groups.
criticism
Hip-hop magazine Juice was surprised that Frauenarzt released an album with the controversial underground rapper Blokkmonsta " amidst its enormous mainstream success ". On the underground, the doctor shows himself aggressive and unleashed. Blokkmonsta convinces with his powerful voice, especially in the hooklines, whereby Arzts stanzas are more interesting. Thematically, the album is described as “ more varied than expected ”, while the productions of the pieces are not received positively. According to Hip-Hop-Jam.net, the gynecologist longs for his success in the charts after the "underground". The album is seen as a surprise and seen as the rapper's attempt to find his way back to his roots. Thematically the topics “Sex & Violence” are covered, whereby Blokkmonsta and the gynecologist hold back in order to avoid being indexed. Self-awareness
