history

Forerunner (1908–1944)

The lesson newspaper for post and telegraph officials is to be seen as a forerunner . It was published in 1908 by the "Association of Middle Reich Post and Telegraph Officials" and was published once a month by the Deutscher Postverband publishing house, later as an independent company in the R. v. Decker (G. Schenck), Berlin, until mid-1940. On October 1, 1927, the “Postbetriebsschule, magazine for the further training of officials of the German Reichspost” was published as the first official educational magazine on behalf of the Reich Ministry of Post . It appeared in the issues »A. Postal Service «,» B. Telegraph, telephone and postal check service "twice a month in the publishing house of RvDecker (G. Schenck), Berlin. The postal check service was renamed "Postal Service School" on January 1, 1938 and appeared for the last time on September 1, 1944.

Teaching Sheets (1948-2004)

After the Second World War , the instruction sheets of the administration for the postal and telecommunications system of the United Economic Area appeared for the first time in November 1948 , published on behalf of the main administration by the Oberpostdirektion Hamburg . On April 21, 1950 the name was changed in the instruction sheets of the Deutsche Bundespost . The official journal of the Deutsche Bundespost was used to impart basic technical knowledge on behalf of the Federal Minister for Post and Telecommunications . As with the pre-war editions, the instruction sheets appeared in two different versions.

Both editions could be obtained through the post office, at the publishing house post office Hamburg 1. In the early years these were free of charge for the postal workers. From 1953 at the latest, a subscription price of 0.25 German marks was demanded for issue A and of DM 0.30 per month for issue B.

It was used for training and further education , was intended to inform the junior staff about the operational processes and resources and to give the other telecommunications workers a broader view of the interrelationships between their work and the overall task . The circulation rose to 40,000 copies.

With the privatization of the Deutsche Bundespost into the three stock corporations Deutsche Post AG , Deutsche Telekom AG and Deutsche Postbank AG , Deutsche Telekom continued the teaching sheets. A slight name change followed. The last teaching sheets appeared in issue 2/2004 on February 10, 2004 under the name: Deutsche Telekom - teaching sheets - the specialist journal of Deutsche Telekom for training and further education .

Knowledge Today (2004–2011)

The magazine was published monthly until the end of 2010; it was not until the last year of issue, 2011, that it switched to bimonthly. Most recently there were almost 10,000 subscriptions .
