Upstedt is a district of the city of Bockenem in Lower Saxony . On October 1, 2011, the village had 216 inhabitants. It is 4.5 km north-west of Bockenem and 1 km from the eastbound B 243 .
history
Upstedt is one of the oldest villages in Ambergau and Lower Saxony. The village was first mentioned in a document in 850 . In addition, Upstedt is one of the most beautiful villages in the Hildesheim district : In 1999, the place was awarded 3rd place in the district competition Our village should be more beautiful . The village is also known for the thick linden tree , which has been the landmark and center of the village for centuries and a protected natural monument .
On March 1, 1974 Upstedt was incorporated into the city of Bockenem.
