Urs Faes
Urs Faes (born February 13, 1947 in Aarau ) is a Swiss writer .
Life
Urs Faes grew up in the Suhrental in Aargau in a Calvinist environment. He first completed training as a primary school teacher at the Wettingen teacher training college . He then studied history , German literature , philosophy and ethnology and completed a dissertation with the title Paganism and Superstition of Black Africans as assessed by German travelers in the 17th century at the University of Zurich . In addition to his studies, he worked at a high school in Zurich.
His first texts appeared in newspapers and magazines in 1970. Urs Faes is best known as a novelist; He has also written poems, stories, plays and radio plays. Until it was dissolved in 2002, he was a member of the Olten Group . Today he lives as a freelance writer in Zurich and San Feliciano in Umbria .
