Ursula Liebert (formerly Ursula Altrichter , née Ursula Höroldt ; * July 13, 1933 , † July 2, 1998 ) was a German chess player .

Ursula Liebert studied mathematics at the Martin Luther University Halle-Wittenberg . She was married to the chess player Heinz Liebert for the second time and also played for the university sports club Halle . In 1953 she took part in a German women's chess championship for the first time .

Chess successes

She won her first GDR championship in 1954 as Ursula Höroldt in Bad Saarow . In 1955 in Zwickau she was fifth in the GDR championship, which Gertrud Nüsken won.

As Ursula Altrichter she was third in Leipzig in 1956 . At the 1957 Chess Olympiad in Emmen (Drenthe) she played on the second board and achieved third place with the GDR women's team. At the GDR championship in 1958 in Schkopau , she was second behind Waltraud Schameitat .

In the GDR championship in Leipzig in 1959/60, which Edith Keller-Herrmann won, Ursula Liebert came fourth. She was third in Premnitz in 1961 . In 1967 she became GDR champion in Colditz together with Waltraud Nowarra .

She was also successful as a senior citizen and came second at the German Senior Women's Championship in Freudenstadt in 1991 .
