Ursula of Manescul

Ursula von Manescul (born May 14, 1931 in Lemberg (then Lwów, Poland ; now Lwiw, Ukraine ); † March 19, 1991 in Karlsruhe , Baden-Württemberg ) was a German actress , radio presenter and chief announcer at Südwestfunk -fernsehen in Baden -Bathing .

Life

The daughter of the Romanian landowner Ritter von Manescul came to Berlin via Poznań after the war . There she attended high school and from 1946 to 1949 took acting lessons from Hilde Körber at the Max Reinhardt School . She studied singing and dance at the municipal opera.

Von Manescul made her debut as a soubrette in 1952 at the Theater am Nollendorfplatz . Engagements at the Hebbel Theater and Comedy followed. From 1954 to 1973 she was chief announcer at Südwestfunk , after which she was a freelance actress.

In 1965 she moderated the fifth German Schlager Festival together with Heidi Abel in Baden-Baden .

Ursula von Manescul was first married to the director Franz M. Lang from 1953 to 1969 and died at the age of 59 as a result of cancer in the Karlsbad-Langensteinbach Clinic near Karlsruhe.
