The Ursulakapelle is a Catholic church in the Stolberg district of Gressenich .

history

The church dates from the 18th century. It was built as a votive chapel on the occasion of a flood catastrophe threatening the town, triggered by the Omerbach near the chapel . The quarry stone building was almost completely destroyed during the Second World War . A citizens' initiative managed to provide the funds for reconstruction. The chapel was consecrated on Corpus Christi in 1954 .

architecture

The chapel was built in the Gothic style. It is about 7 meters long and 3.70 meters wide. The three-sided apse with a turret over the western front is characteristic. Access is via a rectangular door with a late Gothic skylight.
