The Ussa ( Russian Уса ) is a right tributary of the Tom in the Russian Oblast of Kemerovo .
The Ussa rises in the Kuznetsk Alatau . It initially flows west, then turns south, then west, and finally south again. After 179 km it reaches the city of Meshduretschensk , where it joins the Tom. The Ussa drains an area of 3610 km². Their mean discharge is 146 m³ / s. It is mainly fed by the snowmelt . The river is ice-covered between November / mid-December and late April / early May. In the catchment area of Ussa are coal deposits .
