Ute Brucker (* 1967 in Tübingen ) is a German journalist and television presenter .

Career

Ute Brucker, daughter of Otwin Brucker , Mayor of Pliezhausen , graduated from high school in 1986 and studied Romance and German . She gained her first journalistic experience in the Tübingen regional studio of what was then Südwestfunk . Since 1996 she has been working in the foreign editorial team at SWR television . There she also moderated the programs Blickpunkt Europa and Euro.Land as well as the European magazine in Erste .

During the Iraq war in 2003, Ute Brucker reported as a reporter from Baghdad and Jordan . From 2004 to 2008 she headed the ARD studio in Madrid and from September 2008 she again moderated the European magazine . She has been the presenter of Weltspiegel since 2010 . In August 2010, Brucker succeeded Jörg Armbruster as Head of the International / Europe Department at SWR.

In July 2020, Brucker presented the ARD special program ARD Extra for the first time .
