Ute Tellmann

Ute Astrid Tellmann (* 1971 ) is a German sociologist and university professor .

Life

Tellmann graduated from high school in 1990 at the Clemens-August-Gymnasium Cloppenburg and in 1990/1991 a general studies at the Leibniz College of the University of Tübingen . In 1991 she began studying landscape architecture at the Technical University of Berlin . In 1993 she received her BA degree in Berlin , followed by a degree in sociology at Bielefeld University . In 1999 she was awarded the diploma there . During her studies in Bielefeld, she went to the University of Toronto , where she obtained an MA in sociology in 1997 . She went to Cornell University for further studies , where she earned an MA in Government in 2005 and a Ph.D. in 2007. Graduated in Government and Political Theory .

In 2005 Tellmann was employed as a senior research assistant at the chair for sociological theory and cultural sociology at the University of Basel . In 2010, she moved to the Chair of General Sociology and Sociological Theory at the University of Hamburg as a research assistant . She stayed there until 2017, interrupted by a substitute for the junior professorship for sociological theory at Hamburg University in 2012/2013.

Telemann took in 2017 a reputation as a Professor of Sociology, in particular political sociology at the Max Weber Center and the Political Sciences Faculty of the University of Erfurt in. In the summer semester of 2019, she accepted another call at the Technical University of Darmstadt .
